Warnings and Application notes

Warning & Application Instructions for ADHESIVE TAPES

Valid from January 1, 2014

1. Adhesive tape ratings
Please note that the ratings are based on comparisons within our product range.

2. Adhesive residues
Please note that all adhesive tapes, even with the best rating, can leave adhesive residues depending on the surface, pressure, mechanical stress, and application duration.

3. Aging of adhesive tapes
Please note that adhesive tapes may age during storage (more than 1-2 years), depending on the temperature, which alters their properties, particularly adhesion and residue behavior.

4. Caution with stone floors and porous surfaces
Be especially cautious with stone floors and other porous surfaces such as terracotta or clinker, as these often absorb chemical components of adhesives, which can lead to dark streaks on the stone that fade only slowly or not at all.

5. Proper tape removal technique
Always remove adhesive tapes evenly. Jerky removal increases the likelihood of leaving adhesive residues and can damage the substrate due to material peeling. Pay particular attention to this on wooden floors, lacquered and coated surfaces, and other sensitive surfaces.

6. Testing before use
Always test before use:
6.1. on the respective surfaces,
6.2. according to the planned duration of adhesion,
6.3. under the planned mechanical stress,
6.4. under the planned mechanical pressure.

7. Complaints and disclaimer of liability
If adhesive residues and other results are due to the typical properties of an adhesive tape, complaints are excluded. Claims for damages are in any case excluded.
